I wish everyone a happy holiday! All I did today and yesterday was eat eat and eat! I wouldn’t be amazed if I gain 10lbs. This is awesome! I’ll prolly lose whatever I gained in the slopes tomorrow…whether it’s CamelBack (PA) or Mountain Creek (NJ). I’m still craving some snowboarding.
I enjoyed spending time with friends and family. I have not seen them since Thanksgiving. Time just blew by and boom… It’s Christmas. I need to keep up with the faster pace of my life.
By the way, Amazon has a lot of free Christmas Songs for you to download, Click here

So it has been snowing all day today. I, on the other hand, is sick and stuck working at home. I so wanted to go to the park with my snowboard. I am crossing my fingers that I feel better by Sunday. We’re suppose to go to Mt. Creek!
Mt. Creek currently has a Triple Play Card on sale. Go to http://www.mountaincreek.com/ for more details. You can go skiing/snowboarding three times over there for the price of one. Hurry before the sale ends Dec. 24th.

Is it me or do you get your amazon online purchases the next day? 2-5 days shipping becomes 1 day delivery. I’m really impressed! Is it because I live in NY?

My household has 5 computers. 2 of which are running MS Windows and the others Mac OS and Ubuntu. As a person in the computer engineering field, I’d like to surround myself with a little “variety.“ Each platform have their advantages over the other. Don’t you agree?!
My laptop, a Dell Inspiron 6000, just decided to quit on me. grrrr! Well I wouldn’t blame the laptop. It’s the hard drive. It’s better to be preventive than reactive, but in this case… hard drives do tend to go bad after a few years. I had this computer for almost 5 years already and it did serve its purpose. Dell had a pretty cool diagnostic system that looks for problems and errors and it pointed directly to the problem. The picture on the left is my attempt to recover my disk using the good old CHKDSK aka Check disk. I also plan to put it on an enclosure and retrieve my data. Since, your files are always never far away from really being “gone.“ Dell was also nice enough to replace my hard drive which arrived in a day! I almost forgot that I purchased a warranty up the wazooo. Thank God for warranties, they are worth it…sometimes. I am really happy with Dell’s service/support. I would recommend a Dell computer to any individual who wants to get a PC. As for Apple versus Microsoft… that would be a different blog entry as I love my Mac as well.
As for now, I reinstalled the OS, Apps, and the good stuff back into my Dell Laptop. I don’t see a point in upgrading it yet. A computer with 2.0 Ghz CPU, 2GB Ram, and 128MB Video can still kick ass in today’s computing world. Technology is rapidly increasing, but the need to follow it hasn’t seen my door steps yet. (unless you play games..which is one of my iPhone’s purpose, i’ll need more free time on my hands if I try anything else)
